Vassilios Dascalopoulos is an Advisor to BoD for Pitch Public Relations.
He has served as the Managing Director of Asset Ogilvy Public Relations, from 2010 to 2016. During his seventeen years with the company he transformed a small agency in 1999 to a successful Communication and Public Relations firm in the market place in terms of professional achievements.
He joined Ogilvy in 1999 and founded Ogilvy Public Affairs in Greece, created Corporate, Crisis Management, CSR, Health & Medical Practices in the company coming from a career in political consultancy. More specifically from 1993 to 1999 he was the Chief Strategic Advisor to four different Government Spokesmen (Ministry of Press and Information) and to the Greek Government while responsible for strategic consulting in many political campaigns at national and local levels. Duties included intel analysis and poll evaluation, political analysis, preparation and implementation of political and communication strategic architecture.
From 1999 and up to 2010 Vassilios served as the Vice President of Asset Ogilvy Public Relations specializing in Corporate Communication, Public Affairs, Crisis Management, CSR strategy, Health and Medical Communications, Digital and Social Media strategy and Political Communication.
Vassilios has worked for clients such as OTE, COSMOTE, Kraft Foods International, Mattel, Roche, Olvos/Galenica, HSBC, TEVA, PASAL, Citibank, Boehringer-Ingelheim, Minoan Lines, Lenovo, ALCAN, SAMSUNG, Halyvourgiki, PPC, Novartis, Wikipedia, Abbvie and a number of “blue chip” and smaller companies.
In political communication he has served as a chief political strategist and successful campaign manager for many national campaigns of governmental and main opposition parties.
Vassilios is also known for his extremely effective Crisis Management strategic approach, tactical skills and exceptional results. He has managed successfully, one of the country’s history worse ship accidents, Samina, for Minoan Lines (2001). A milestone case study which he has often presented in the Institute of Communication.
Vassilios holds a BA in Political Science & Economics from the University of Massachusetts (Boston) and MA in Politics (International Relations, Comparative Politics) and Economics from Northeastern University.
Vassilios’s work has won many awards in communication. His work brought the first Grand Ermis Award in the history of Asset Ogilvy PR.
He has also taught Political Communication at the School of Public Administration and he is a member of the Institute of Communication where he often teaches in seminars of Strategy, Corporate Communication, Crisis Management, Public Affairs and Political Communication and Strategy.
Vassilios Dascalopoulos is the author of political articles in Greek newspapers and comments on Greek television and radio, and foreign mass media regarding Greek and US electoral politics.
